Granny's Nativity
Margi's mother made this nativity by hand. Margaret Waters Newlin crafted the figures out of clay and hangers. Her fingerprints can still be seen in their feet. She sewed the clothes and dipped them in flour water to stiffen them. She painted their faces, designing every beautiful detail.
If you look closely, you will see that Margaret used things around the house and incorporated them into the scene. Joseph's staff is actually a paint brush bent to look like a Shepherd's Crook. The gifts the Wisemen are carrying are actually a matchbox, a light bulb, and a shot gun shell.

Sam's Club Nativity
This nativity actually came from Sam's Club. It takes up an entire table to display it. The large angel in the background was found at a garage sale. It fit so beautifully together, Margi always displays the nativity with the angel watching over the Holy Family.

Children's Pageant Nativity
Children acting out the Holy Story.....they use hobby horses, tennis shoes, piggy banks and even a little red wagon. There's a terrific innocence captured here, reminding us that Jesus came to this world as an innocent child. Their smiles show us this is a happy time.

Anytime of the year, you will find this nativity displayed on Margi's piano in the Living Room. The pieces are simply made of plastic and metal. The city of Bethlehem is etched on the back piece; and, the blue lights shimmer through the figures.
